Ronald Joseph Reichert was born August 2, 1945. He led a beautiful, difficult, and complex life, as do all humans. Born in Macklin, Saskatchewan to Albert and Katherine Reichert, he was blessed to have a big, farm family and life.

He is survived by his two children, siblings and their families: son, Brent Ronald Reichert; daughter, Lynn Marie Reichert- Trotz; son-in-law, Marcus Joseph Trotz; and granddaughter Alyssa Emily Reichert – Trotz. Or as he called her, Little Lizzy. He is also survived by his siblings: Lorriane and Valetine Sander, Theresa Reichert – in Heaven with dad, Richard Reichert - (Celine Reichert –also holding my dad’s hand in heaven at present), Doloris Reichert, Norbert (Rick) and Carol Reichert, and Marianne Reichert; and special friends, Patricia Doreen Reichert, Shirley Hemmitt and Brent Hemmitt.

Ron was an incredibly talented, and smart man. If something or someone was needing to be fixed, you called him. He set out on his own at 16, as people of his generation on farms did. He lived as a farm hand with various families until he moved to Unity, Saskatchewan and secured his first real job with Pools Autobody where he became a Body man. Again, he loved fixing things and trying to make things right. He loved cars, as he would say so many times “the purr of a Hemi Engine” … and then be quiet, as if only him and God could have appreciated that sound.

He met and married Pat Kerr shortly thereafter and they started their journey together, which led them to Thompson, Manitoba. Both would laugh and say they had no idea what they were getting into, or how long that road was into the north, but they did it. Pioneers. They found one another again in the past few years as friends. Telling tales of good and bad, and enjoying their family together.

Both Brent and Lynn were born in Thompson, and many, many great years were had at Paint Lake, with Ron teaching the kids the love of the outdoors, fishing, boating, sledding. Those were the golden years.

Ron worked his way up quickly as a body man at a little garage on 40 Station Road, that would become part of his legacy. He became the part owner with Dave and Margaret Krueger, and Larry and Joanne Radics of Three Way Chrysler. They worked so hard but man did they have a good time. Eventually he went on to handle the reins on his own until he retired and sold roughly 20 years ago. It still stands tall, as Thompson Chrysler. Quite amazing, if one stops to really think of it.

He spent his retirement at their cabin on paint lake, Lethbridge AB and Palm Springs with his former partner Shirley Hemmitt, close to family and friends, he loved to golf, (go see his name engraved at Evergreen Golf Course), curl, and spend time on his beloved acreage. Ron loved music, especially old country music. He also enjoyed dancing, and would with each opportunity that arose.

He passed suddenly and peacefully on that beloved piece of land September 4, 2024. He is at rest. He would love if you smiled when he crosses your mind from time to time. May we all learn a lesson about how to live with a passion for life, for family, hard work, and a dedication to “doing the right thing”. May he be at peace now.

A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Santiago Torres celebrating.

Both the Celebration of Life and Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Ron’s obituary on the Cornerstone website at their respective times.

Sending my deepest condolences to Ron’s family. I’d like to think that Ron and my dad (Dave Kruger) have already met up and are playing rounds of golf at the golf course in heaven and reminiscing about old times at the dealership. I don’t think I ever seen Ron without a smile on his face. Dad, Larry and Ron were like the three musketeers!! Sending hugs and much love ❤️

What can I say about my Uncle Ron. What a great man and true gentleman he was, I have a ton of memories of him over the years but one always brings a smile to my face. Whenever you were talking and visiting with him he always made you feel like you and what you had to say were the most important things in the world. I will miss you more than you will ever know, you were one of the best.

Your Nephew Terry , September 18, 2024

Ronnie was a dear friend! We loved visiting back and forth as neighbours on the acreage. We had many great “meetings” with long talks and good fun. He was friendly with all the neighbours and would go out of his way to help anyone. We golfed with him and Shirley in Palm Springs, and they were always generous and gracious hosts. We will miss him a great deal, the neighborhood will not be the same without him. Rest in peace dear friend.
