RON HILGERSOM beloved husband of Tricia Hilgersom of Coaldale, passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital as a result of an aneurysm, on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the age of 37 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two children Ty and Haylee, parents Gerry and Joanne Hilgersom of Coaldale, three brothers Cornie Hilgersom (Derek) of Taber, Marko (Maya) Hilgersom and their children Lily, Sam and Seiji of Lethbridge, and Jerry Hilgersom of Lethbridge, and many family in The Netherlands.
He is also survived by Tricia’s family; grandmother Berniece Meldrum of Lethbridge, parents Bruce and Linda Murray of McNally and brother Wes (Jenn) Murray of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Ron was born January 23, 1972 in Coaldale where he was raised. He was educated in Readymade and Coaldale. Ron met Tricia Murray in high school and found out they shared the same birthday. High school sweethearts were married July 15, 1995. Ron worked at landscaping and construction even building his own homes. Building was his passion. He spent his last years as manager of Burnco Rock. Ron was the biggest fan of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers. His number one love was watching Ty play hockey. From that he spent a lot of hours coaching, managing and serving on the Board of Coaldale Minor Hockey. Ron was a perfect husband and dad. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether playing basketball with his kids when he got home from work or building a play house for his princess Raye Raye (Haylee).
Ron will be sadly missed by his family and many, many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, AB., on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Manfred Boller officiating. Private family interment will precede the service.
