ANDREW ROHALY, beloved husband of Louise Rohaly of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 at the age of 81 years.
Besides his loving wife Louise, Andrew is remembered by his children; Tracy (Larry) Gray of Kelowna, BC, Kimberly (Russell) Brosbol of Lethbridge and Lyn-Dee Rohaly of Lethbridge, three grandchildren; Daniel Gray of Kelowna, BC, and Kasandra and Kyle Brosbol of Lethbridge. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rose Rohaly and several nieces and nephews. Andy was predeceased by his parents Frank and Ethel Rohaly, brothers John and Robert and one sister Mary.
Andy was born in Hardieville, AB but at a young age the family moved to Lethbridge where he spent the rest of his life. He joined the Lethbridge Fire Department on December 1, 1959. He moved up the ranks to Platoon Chief on October of 1989. He went on disability due to Multiple Sclerosis in October of 1991 and retired from the department April 7, 1998. Andy and Louise would have shared their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2014.
Andy was a gentle giant and was known for his calm demeanour and willingness to work hard. Andy will be remembered by his family, friends and co-workers as someone willing to do anything for you. We love you and will miss you deeply.
The family would like to thank Dr. Meller, the Lethbridge Fire Department and the staff of We Care, especially Beth and Gilbert, for their care over the years. Also a big thank you to the home care team, Jana, Shelley, Kathy and Jackie.
A Funeral Service for Andrew will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. with Deacon Frank Peta, officiating.
Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
