Numbers 6:24-26: "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee; the Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; the Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

Lily was born on December 4th, 1936 in Camrose, Alberta.  She was raised in the family greenhouse and florist business in Camrose and met the love of her life there while still in high school, attending Camrose United Church Youth together. As a young couple with a growing family, Lily and Jerry made many good friends in Camrose, Wainwright, and Lethbridge, where they settled in 1972. As the family grew up, Lily returned to working life in the office and library at Hamilton Junior High School, retiring prematurely in 1994 due to an unsuccessful back operation. She lived with limited mobility, as well as much chronic and acute pain as a result, but was always lovingly cared for by Jerry, enabling her to continue with a degree of family and social activities. Fortunately they were able to enjoy several wonderful trips together following Jerry's retirement in 1997, particularly enjoying extended holidays in Hawaii. They were lifelong members of The United Church of Canada, and shared a deep love for music, volunteering many hours at McKillop United Church including singing in the Senior Choir. Lily and Jerry were founding members of the Lethbridge Alzheimer's Society, to which they devoted many volunteer hours. Lily lived her life with purpose and integrity, supporting her family with love and concern.

Lily's family is grateful to the staff at St. Therese Villa and prior to that at St. Michael's Rehabilitation Unit. The last several months of her life were brightened by the many new friends she made there and the cheerful and loving care shown by all levels of staff at St. Therese, for which our family will be forever grateful.  Donations in Lily's memory may be made to McKillop United Church at mckillopunited.ca, to Alzheimer's research at alzheimer.ca (please specify "Alzheimer Society - Restricted to Research"), or to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for the late LILY ROGERS at McKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 15 Ave. S, Lethbridge on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 A.M. with a luncheon reception to follow in the church courtyard.
