He will be remembered for the gentle, loving person he was throughout his lifetime of 43 years. He was raised in the Old Agency area of the Blood reserve, where he continued to live throughout his lifetime. Robert received his schooling in Lethbridge and St. Mary’s High School. He underwent training and gained his Agricultural Certificate and completed Correction Officer Training in Edmonton. He was a bus driver for the Blood Reserve Bus Co-op and received two awards for Driver of the Year. In his younger years, he was a natural athlete, known for his speed and agility. Whatever sport he took on, he always excelled. Robert’s true calling was that of a horseman, he was gifted with a natural ability in working with race horses. His expertise led to many victories for his uncle Don and his racing Quarter horses. Robert made many lasting friendships on the race track. Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 22 years, Marie, (whom he referred to as ‘Babe’), and their children who he loved with all his heart. Above all, Robert was a devoted father and took great pride in his children’s accomplishments be it a graduation or a hockey game. Robert always only gave words of encouragement. Robert will be best remembered for his never ending humor as there was never a dull moment while in his company. He loved to make people laugh and share in his happiness. He leaves behind his many buddies with whom he had many good times. Throughout his lifetime he amassed many friendships and touched all with his genuine caring nature.
