JAMES COLIN RIPLEY, beloved husband of 58 years to Margaret Faye Ripley, passed away with his family by his side at St. Michael's Health Centre on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Jim raised two daughters, Lori (Ag?) Dejong of Coaldale and Jacquie (Trevor) Kuryvial of Lee Creek, BC. He was most proud to be called Papa by four grandchildren, Rylee (Justin) Coccimiglio, TJ Ripley-Pierson, MaCall Kuryvial and Cole Kuryvial. He was soon-to-be a Great-Papa in April 2020.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Leona Ripley, and his brothers, Wayne & Don.
Jim was born on August 9, 1938 in Victoria, BC. He grew up in Spring Coulee with his parents and his brothers, Wayne & Don. He attended Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri and obtained his degree in Chiropractic. Upon completion, he returned to Alberta and settled with his beloved Marg in Taber, where they raised their girls and he practiced his trade for 32 years.
Jim loved the outdoors. Throughout his lifetime, he made many camping trips across Alberta and BC. He and Marg were members at the Taber Golf Club for many years. Baseball was another passion of Jim's; it could be said that he coached the Blue Jays to many victories from his chair in the living room.
Most of all, Jim loved to fish. He and Marg spent many hours trolling the lakes for the catch of the day.
He was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, appreciated his close friends and lived life with such integrity. Healing others was his life's work and joy—his true essence.
A Private Celebration of Jim's Life was held at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
