Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife, Loni; his children: Justin (deceased), Kristine, Brett, Jordan, Ashley, and Lindsay; his grandchildren; great-granddaughter; and his dog Maija, whom he loved more than all of the above combined.
Among his many accolades and accomplishments, the most notable was his arduously earned PhD in Dad Jokes.
Richard was best known for his quick-witted sense of humor and ability to make light of any situation. His family will deeply miss his amazing hugs, sparkling green eyes, warm smile, entrepreneurial spirit, love of vehicles, passion for building things, and the pride he took in his Scottish heritage. Other cherished memories include his love for music, two-stepping, nicknames, impeccable French, imaginative nature, conversational skills, stubbornness, sense of humor, loving visits, toughness, dreamer spirit, and sweet tooth.
Richard embraced the eccentric and, never shying away from marching to the beat of his own drum. He truly lived a life that made him happy.
“One day maybe” was never an option for Richard; he tried everything and had no regrets.
He will be eternally missed and, as in life, in death, he will be surrounded and cherished by his loved ones.
As per Richard’s wishes, there will be no formal service held.
