MRS. ALICE RHODES, beloved wife of the late Albert (Scotty) Rhodes of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the age of 87 years.
Alice was born September 23, 1922 in Thelma, Alberta. Besides living in Lethbridge, Alice lived in Medicine Hat and the Crowsnest Pass.
Besides her husband, Scotty, Alice was predeceased by 17 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Roxy (Larry) Stevenson and Tara (Doran) Degenstein, grandchildren Cory (Liz) Stevenson of Medicine Hat, Dana Stevenson of Kelowna, B.C., Jassen (Holly) Wutzke of Surrey B.C., Lisa (Rick) Bossom of Courtney, B.C. and Jody (Ross) Edwards of Pincher Creek. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, and brothers-in-law, Henry Rennie of Lethbridge and George Robards of Brandon, Manitoba, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid sports enthusiast, winning many bowling awards and achieving 2 holes-in-one while golfing. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion. We would like to thank the staff of West Highland, especially Linda, and the doctors and nurses for their kindness and support.
A Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION (north door) on Mayor Magrath Drive on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 1:00-3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2M7.
