CLARICE MARIE RED CROW (Iis'taa'pai'yohtowa - "Heard as you're leaving")
Marie departed the physical world as the Sun rose to its highest on July 16, 2022, at the age of 60 years old while surrounded by her loving family at the Chinook Health Centre in Cardston, Alberta.
Marie left us a legacy of memories that we shall cherish forever, her big smile, laughter, humbleness, kindness, respect but most of all her love for her family, friends and all who knew her.
Marie was raised in a Traditional Blackfoot setting and received her name from Makoiyapii/Wolf Old Man/ Willie Scraping White. Marie completed her education at Cardston Elementary & Junior High School and earned her High School diploma from St. Mary's, High School on the Blood Reserve, in 1984. In pursuit of furthering her education, she enrolled at the Lethbridge Community College and achieved a Two-Year Diploma in the Secretarial Science Program.
Marie was employed for 3 years as a Tour Guide at the Buffalo Jump Interpretive Center and would later pursue work with the Blood Tribe Police Services while working as a dispatcher and data entry clerk. Marie's passion and professional work ethic within the Blood Tribe Police Services earned her 20+ years of community devotion.
Marie leaves a beautiful daughter to mourn her departure: Cassie Leigh Dawn (Milo Big Throat) Red Crow. Her precious grand children: Seantae (David Crow Chief) Red Crow, Cohen Heavy Shields, Ashley & Kayden One Spot, Mila Big Throat, Kobe Blake Sam Wolf Child, Tionne Russell-Red Crow, Nahlah Red Crow, Anika Bruised Head and Mila Red Crow-Big Throat. Her first great grandchild whom she adored very much - Damien Crow Chief. She is also survived by her loving father Clarence Red Crow and siblings: Barbara, Noreen, Ernestine (Calvin Williams) Red Crow, Franklyn (Annette) White Quills, Patsy (Ken) Many Fingers, Allison (Jayme), Clarence (Rita), Shawn (Melanie), Henry (Carolla), James, Max (LoriAnn) Red Crow & Rosella (Dion) Doore. Her Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces too numerous to mention. Her Aunties; Bernadette Young Pine, Delores Gadbois, Pauline Tallow, Edna Devine, Audrey White Quills, Bernice White Quills, Ada Red Crow, Karen Hooper, Sharon (Darryl) Beddome, Veronica Rosie McHugh, Stella Red Crow (Peter Chief Calf), Bernice Scout and Agnes First Charger. Uncles; Vincent White Quills, & Francis (Judy) First Charger. Her godsons Brian Dean Plume and Tristen Goodstriker.
Marie is now reunited with departed loved ones: Our Precious Mother Florence Red Crow, Her Pride and Joy Son Jason Red Crow, Emily Red Cow (Stepmother), Calvin Red Crow (brother), Flora Red Crow (Sister), Wendy Many Bears (Sister) Aldwin White Quills Jr., Dave Red Crow, (Nephew), Neveah Red Crow Great Great Niece, Aldwin Healy (Companion) and Grandparents: Willie Scraping White (Makoiyapii) Jim Red Crow, Ada Kadanaga, Paul & Fanny White Quills. Her Uncles; Morris, Arthur, Leo, Dennis, Eugene, Roderick White Quills, Leonard Young Pine, Leonard Old Shoes, Frederick (Elizebeth), William (Cathy), Johnny (Bernice) Red Crow. Her Aunties; Angeline Standing Alone, Jane & Julia White Quills, Carol, Lena Red Crow & Camillia Wadsworth.

Wake Service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Senator Gladstone Hall Blood Reserve, AB, at 6:00 P.M. and Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Blood Reserve, AB at 11:00 A.M. with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I. celebrating.
Following the Funeral Mass, Marie will be laid to rest in Blood Band Cemetery. Feast to follow at the Senator Gladstone Hall.
