RED CROW, ANDREW

ANDREW MARCUS RED CROW (Nayituu' Soykuiss - Holy Root) April 24, 1981 - July 19, 2012 ANDREW MARCUS RED CROW, devoted and loving father to Kira Sky and Kaydance Scott Marcus, was called home by the Creator on July 19, 2012 while on his daily jog near his residence on Highway 509, Blood Reserve. Nayituu' Soykuiss (Holy Root) is the name bestowed upon Andrew when he was three months old by his late great aunt Elder Margaret Hind Man. Nayituu' Soykuiss is symbolic of his late grandparents and ancestors deep involvement in the traditional ceremonies and ways of Kainai. Andrew will be remembered as a kind and generous man who treated everyone with respect. He was a humble and thoughtful man who believed in living a healthy, active lifestyle. He was a familiar jogger on Highway 509 and "working out" in his parent's basement. He was a gifted and talented athlete and along with his brother Allred played for the Catholic Central Cougars football team during his high school years. But Andrew's greatest accomplishments were his children Kira and Kaydance whom he held with such love and pride. Andrew cherished his nephews and niece and there was always an over abundance of fun times with Uncle. As a brother, he was there emotionally and spiritually providing tender support and comfort to his dear sister and brothers. Andrew was a good son, always there for his parents. His last project which he didn't get to finish was renovating their bedroom. To everyone else, his friends and relatives Andrew was friendly and had a great sense of humour, he was quite simply, a nice guy. Andrew attended elementary, middle, and high school in Lethbridge. He took carpentry courses at Lethbridge Community College and was a firefighter for the past three years. Prior to his passing, Andrew was training to participate in an upcoming Kick Boxing tournament in Lethbridge. He leaves behind his loving parents, Alvin and Sheila (nee Brave Rock) Red Crow, sister, Elisha, her children, Devlin, Lennex, Diego, and Lily and his brothers, Allred and Alvin Jr. (Big Al); his aunties; Jacqueline Red Crow, Delphine (John) Pipestem of the Tsuu T'ina Nation, Annie (Michael) Blood; uncles, Ed Chief Moon, Norbert (Mandy) Red Crow, Rocky (Susan) Brave Rock, Ross Brave Rock and Leonard (Emma) Brave Rock, and the mother of his children Summer Dawn Kay, of Saskatchewan; his great uncles: Charlie (Betty) Crow Chief, Mervin Brave Rock, Ben (Mary) Red Crow, Alex (Gloria) Red Crow, great aunties: Adeline Singer, May Tallow, Pauline Tallow, Joan (Joe) White Man Left Andrew had many relatives and extended family including Red Crow, Tallow, Oka, Crow Chief, Iron Shirt, Devine, Stabs Down, Weasel Head, Eagle Plume, Brave Rock, Buckskin, Long Time Squirrel, Hunt, Hind Man, Panther Bone, Wadsworth, Tailfeathers and Many Fingers, and others too numerous to mention.
