Heidt, Randy

February 4, 2025

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of RANDY HEIDT, our beloved husband, father, grandpa/papa, brother and uncle at the Chinook Regional Hospital, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 4,2025 at the age of 63 years old.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Elaine; his four children: Deon (Kevin), Brad (Kristy), Kelly (Layla) and Jessi (Jeffrey); his nine grandchildren: Kyle, Ethan (Breanna), Blake (Katie), Jayda, Jace, Wyatt, Rhett, Ava and Aiden; his three brothers: Larry (Darlene), Brice (Joanne) and Blaine (Darlene); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Madeline Heidt; sister-in-law, Christina Heidt; his niece, Lia Heidt; and nephew, Jason Heidt.

Randy was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on August 7, 1961, being the youngest of four boys. Through his years, they lived in Trapping Lake, Saskatchewan, Bashaw, Hay Lakes, and then settled in Ponoka, Alberta, where he went to school.

Randy met his wife Elaine in 1984 while working for Parkland Industries in Red Deer, Alberta.

They were married February 1, 1986. Together they raised their four children in Red Deer, before moving to Coaldale in 1994 to start their trucking Business Bradeck Enterprises. Randy loved trucking and moving freight across Canada and through the USA for many years in his Blue Peterbilt Unit # 69.

Randy was most fond of his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and all his extended family.

He was proud of his children and grandchildren beyond measure; they were what lit up his world. He was the biggest hugger and when he hugged you, it was with intention.

After retirement, in his spare time, he enjoyed building enormous Lego sets. Randy and Elaine, being snowbirds, loved heading south for the winter months in their motorhome, travelling all throughout the states, exploring and making memories. He also loved snuggling with his cats: Toby, Sally and Mittens.

Randy will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation in memory of Randy Heidt.
