CHARLINA MARIE "DIMPLES" PROVOST-HOUGHTON, Soyo'pii (Standing in Water), passed away on August 15, 2020 at the age of 69 surrounded by her loving family.

CHARLINA MARIE "DIMPLES" PROVOST-HOUGHTON, Soyo'pii (Standing in Water), passed away on August 15, 2020 at the age of 69 surrounded by her loving family.

Dimples is survived by Roger, her loving husband and best friend of 45 years; her beautiful children, Dallas, Roger, Reena (Adam) Labossiere, Dallas "Dez" Jr., and her adorable grandchildren whom she cherished deeply, Donovan, Owen, Rocco and Charlee.

Dimples was born on July 2, 1951 to Charles Gibbons and Mary Ann Provost of the Piikani Nation. She attended the Brocket Day School, Pincher Creek Junior High and F.P. Walshe in her younger years. Later in life, she attended the Red Crow College taking the Early Childhood Program and then went on to the University of Lethbridge enrolling in the Native American Studies Program.

Her favourite hobbies included golfing, playing bingo, shopping, crocheting, travelling and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Black Horse Society. Her favourite memory was Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a family vacation where she went zip lining, riding dune buggies and swimming in the Caribbean Sea. Dimples was also a proud Horseshoe Champion playing alongside her husband for many years. She even had her hand in acting, playing an extra on "Dreamkeeper" with her daughter Reena and also having a line in the movie "Emergency!" These are memories she always cherished.

She is also survived by her sisters, Geraldine Thunder Chief, Debbie, Gloria, Lucille (Rob); her brothers, Charles Jr. (Bev) and Chucky Provost; her brothers-in-law, Del Healy and Brian Houghton; sisters-in-law, Eloise Provost and Jesslyn Houghton; her aunties, Bernice Baptiste, Joyce Little Moustache, Lucy Soosay and Dila Provost; her uncles, John and Tony Little Moustache; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Gibbons and Mary Ann Provost; brothers, Gilbert (Viola), Gordie, Brian and Casey; her sister, Diane Healy; her parents-in-law, Frank and Myrtle Houghton; her brothers-in-law, Richard Thunder Chief, Leonard and George Houghton; her sister-in-law Cookie Houghton; and her grandson Dolan Provost. She had a very special bond with her dad and her brothers Gilbert and Gordie and are now reunited in Heaven.

A Wake Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 St. S, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13 St. N, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, kindly RSVP your attendance to Cornerstone. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry.

Charlina will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery.
