Prem was a beloved figure in her family, a devoted wife to her late husband Stanley Kuldip Chandrikha (Hansraj) Jagdat, and a loving mother to her daughters: Jennifer Jagdat and Natalie Jagdat Hopkins. She was adored by her grandchildren: Reily, Rhett, and Rachel Hopkins. Her family circle was wide, including her sisters: Delassie, Yoganie, Dhanpatti Shivlochan and Sumintra Shiwlochan. She was a cherished auntie to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a cherished auntie to numerous nieces and nephews.
Prem was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Rohanie and Khana Shivlochan, her brother, James Boodwah Shiwlochan, and her sisters, Dularie Shivlochan and Jaswanti Kumal.
Prem was born October 11, 1946, and she dedicated her life to her family and faith.
Prem’s career included teaching, Administrator for the British Museum, Eaton’s, Sedgwick, and Mercer. She was an alumna of The College of Preceptors in London.
She was member of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God. Her interests were diverse, including gardening, cooking, baking, and her cats.
Prem’s legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed.
The family invites those who knew and loved Prem to attend a Celebration of Life at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. The Celebration of Life will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Prem’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Our deepest condolences to Jennifer and her sis Natalie. Aunt Prem was a blessing to our family throughout her time here on earth. We will cherish the memories and moments we spend at her home in Pickering. Enjoyed aunt prem cooking and time spend shopping with her. Auntie Prem is gone to be with the Lord.

Our deepest condolences to Natalie, Jen, Reply, Rhett, Rachel and extended family. During all of our visits to your family home, Mrs. Jagdat was a very loving and caring person, always smiling. We will continue to keep the entire family in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult season.
Prem, meaning Love, only an Angel can possess, came and dwelled among us. Then the Father sent another to fetch her. Your love is needed somewhere else. She said 'I am ready.' And Love left us with treasures of fond memories. Gone, treasured and will always be cherished.
An Angel came down and dwelled among us. Then one from Heaven came and said the Lord needs you somewhere else. You said you are ready. Was our privilege and blessing to be allowed to share you. Gone on another journey but will always be treasured.
Where to start… Granny prem i love & miss you very much i have the fondest of memories with you & will never forget all the fishing trips down on the lake, you smile brightened any room and your food oh my but even more so the sweeties, oh my how im a miss your mitai. Love you so much granny prem & even though you are gone you will never leave my heart. Love you ❤️
Aunty Prem, I am thankful I got to spend time with you before you left this world. You always loved cooking and feeding people, even from your hospital bed asking me if I ate. I was fortunate to spend many a day with you whilst growing up in UK and then visiting you and the family in Pickering with my sons. We made some long lasting memories. You will be missed but never forgotten as we will carry you in our memories and heart. Sleep in eternal peace until we meet again. Love Eileen, Lemar and Malique xxx

I have known Prem for 33 years. She always welcomed me into her home with a smile and a warm hello. We both shared our love for cats. After her last cat passed away she said that she would never get anymore, that it was too hard when they died. I tried to convince her to get another 1 or 2, knowing that Jen wanted to get more and deep down so did Prem. Her relationship with her daughters and grandchildren was special and you could see the joy they brought her. When Natalie told me that her mom was moving to Alberta, she was very happy and excited to have her close by again. I went to visit Prem and Jen before they left for Alberta and I could never have imagined it would have been the last time I would see or speak to her. :( She will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her and my deepest condolences go out to the entire family.
Aunty Prem, This is bitter sweet, I'm sad that you're gone but I'm happy you're truly home now with all those who left before you. It's true what they say that you don't know what you have until it's gone. You were a big part of my life I never realized how much that really meant until now. Growing up it was always about hanging out with Uncle Stan or with Natalie and Jenny. But it wouldn't have ever been right without you. Thank you for all of the pholourie, baiganee and delicious mithai. You will be deeply missed. My heart goes out to my cousin's Jenny and Natalie. Reily, Rhett and Rachel. Prem, we are so sad to have lost you so soon. Our two families lived so closely together from the time Ed and I got married. Our kids grew up together and we had our Thanksgivngs and Christmas holidays together until you moved to Alberta. Always thought we'd get together at least one more time. You will be missed.
