PRASKACH, ANNIE

MRS. ANNIE PRASKACH of Picture Butte, beloved wife of the late Joe Praskach, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the age of 86 years.

Annie was born April 15, 1923 in Czechoslovakia and came to Canada with her mother, brother and sister at the age of 12 to join their father who was here working.

She later met Joe and they got married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lethbridge on February 17, 1938. They farmed in the Picture Butte area until retiring in 1974.

Annie is survived by her sons Stanley (and dear friend Lois Eriksen) Praskach and Paul (Maryanne) Praskach and her grandchildren Craig (Kerri) Praskach, Kerri (Joel) Weaver, James Praskach and Tammy (Ken) Perlich, and Great grandchildren Devon and Jordon Praskach and Ethan and Bowen Weaver. Also left to mourn her loss are her sister Helen (Frank) Benci and brother Steve (Bessie) Sutka and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annie was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1977 and also by her parents Katie and William Sutka.

Annie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and she loved to bake and garden. She was a member of the Happy Old Timers in Picture Butte. She travelled extensively and above all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends may meet with the family at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.

A celebration of Annie's life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment to follow at Archmount Cemetery.
