PITT, MARGARET

MARGARET PITT passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, in Lethbridge, on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 91 years. Margaret is survived by Terry Pitt and children Ken and Tyler, of Lethbridge, Debbie (Dan) Fortier and Brookely of Lethbridge, Evelyn Currie and children Kelesy, Taylor, Kiley, of Spokane, WA, and Bette Anne Pitt, as well as six grandchildren and sister Evelyn Amen.
She was predeceased by daughter Joanie, sons Larry and Ron, brothers Alex and Jimmy Currie and brother-in-law Conard Amen. Margaret was born in 1921 in Hardieville, AB and accomplished much in her life, including raising seven children. She used her joy of cooking as an employment choice and was a strong influence as union president for CUPE. Her quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity and a sense of humor will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her. Her love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her, her family will dearly miss her. A private service will be held at a later date.
