BEVERLY PIERSON, beloved companion of Rick Fedorwick, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in her family’s home in Picture Butte, AB.
Bev was born on March 10, 1958 in Lethbridge, AB, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Keith Pierson. They had three children: Scott, Treena, and Troy. In 1993, Bev moved to the Crowsnest Pass and worked many different jobs. The one she treasured the most was Bill and Shirley Sara’s bed and breakfast. She found the property to very tranquil and serene. This was the true change in Bev’s life that allowed her to find herself.
Bev met her long lost step-sister (Dolly) in 1995 and decided to try a new business venture in Vancouver, being custodians. This adventure was a great choice as she met the love of her life, Rick Fedorwick in October 1998. Rick and Bev quickly fell in love and knew that they were meant for one another. With Rick’s love and support, Bev completed her Nursing Attendant schooling. She began her career in the medical field at Riverview Hospital in Vancouver, BC where she really found her calling in life. Bev was a very compassionate, caring woman and she was meant for this type of work. In 2006, Bev and Rick decided they needed to be closer to her children and their grandchildren, and moved to Calgary, AB. Bev worked on Unit 53 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. She loved her job and it showed through and through. Bev took exceptional care of her patients and made many special relationships with her co-workers. Bev treasured every moment working there and they all held a special place in her heart. Bev also loved her family, children, and grandchildren to no end. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them and it showed. She will be sadly missed and always remembered.
Bev was predeceased by her son, Scott Michael Pierson, and her friend, Keith Pierson. She is survived by her forever love, Rick Fedorwick, her children: Treena (Don) Orich and Troy Pierson; her grandchildren: Nathan, Ciara, and Shianne; who she loved with her whole heart. She is also survived by her mom, Anne Gullickson, and her siblings: Pat (John) Moreau, Doug (Kathy) Gullickson, Carol Kipnik, Lisa (Bruce) O’Donnell, Brenda (Bill) Guskjolen, and Dolly (Yvan) Fortier.
A special thank you to all the medical staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic, the Lethbridge Cancer Clinic, the palliative care team, the Pierson’s, and especially to Barb Orich for all of her dedication, love, and support.
