Phyllis was born on February 15, 1936, in Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 20, she immigrated to Canada to be with Bob, the love of her life. They were married on February 12, 1958, and together built a life rich in love, family, and shared memories. In 1961, they made their home in Lethbridge, Alberta, where they would raise their family.
Phyllis and Bob shared a passion for travel, with Hawaii and Coeur d’Alene among their favourite destinations. Phyllis found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits playing bridge, knitting, and crocheting beautiful baptismal gowns that were lovingly worn by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on their special days. She was an avid reader, a lover of music, and above all, deeply devoted to her family. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Heather (Terry) Bailey of Ponoka; Beth (Randy) Quan of Lethbridge; and Donna Edhart (Ron Miller) of Edmonton. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren: Robert (Justina) Sakamoto, Shae-Lynn (Steve) Sakamoto, Liam (Atiyia) Skelly, Brandon Bailey, Kyle Bailey, Alycia (Colin) Poffenroth, and Craig (Deanne) Edhart; as well as 13 great-grandchildren and many extended family members in both Canada and Scotland. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband Bob, her daughter Pat, her grandson Jared, and other dear extended family members.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Martha’s House, especially Regina and Martina, whose care and kindness went above and beyond. Sincere thanks are also given to the staff on Units 3A and 4B, the Emergency Department at Chinook Regional Hospital, and the Lethbridge paramedics for their dedicated care and support.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Cornerstone Funeral Home, in Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
