PETA, JULIUS

MR. JULIUS PETA, beloved husband of the late Helen Peta and more recently Anne Peta of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 94 years.

He was the loving father of; Ron (Venancia) Peta of Lethbridge, Lawrence (Gabriella) Peta of Edmonton and Lorraine (Peter) McCormick of Lethbridge. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Charlene Kocken, Ron Jr. (Linda) Peta, Aaron Peta, Heidi (Jonathan) Larson, Scott (Rebekah) McCormick and Lisa McCormick as well as 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Julius was predeceased by his loving wife Helen and later by his second wife Anne as well as brothers Frank and Steve.

Julius was born on October 22, 1915 in Diamond City and was raised and educated in Southern Alberta. At the age of 15 he began work in the coal mines and later earned Mine Manager papers. He was proud to have been the last miner out of the #8 mine. Julius then began farming in Wrentham in 1961. He adored his family and nothing made his life happier than family gatherings. He will be sadly missed by the family.

A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 7:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. with Deacon Frank Peta officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In memory of Julius, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
