Yvonne was raised in Brocket by her mother Julia and attended school in Brocket, Pincher Creek and Lethbridge Community College. As a young child she rode horses with her cousins and ruled Scotch Coulee. She played basketball in high school and college and was an avid cross country skier who loved the outdoors. She then met Lambert who was also studying Criminal Justice in Lethbridge Community College. Yvonne married Lambert Fox on May 6, 1972 in Brocket, Alberta together they raised their five children in Standoff, Alberta. They were both members of the Alberta Foster Parent Association and raised numerous foster children as their own. She took part in a pilgrimage with the Blood Indian Reserve Catholic Church to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico. In 1979 Yvonne & Lambert went to Baden Baden, West Germany to bid successfully for the Calgary Winter Olympics. In 1984 they were also involved in the Calgary Exihibition & Stampede with British Airways promotional tour to England & Scotland. She entered numerous beauty competitions in Alberta Beauty Association and won awards for men’s precision hair cutting. She was excited for the new addition coming in July otherwise known as Baby Boy Elmo. As most grandmothers do, Yvonne doted on her grandkids every need, whether it was grandma’s taxi or driving through the field to find Star’s horse she was always making them happy. When each of her grandbabies was born she helped name each of the grandkids by giving them a nickname. She was very proud every time one of her children or grandchildren was awarded at a graduation ceremony, always being the emotional mother crying tears of happiness. It is with great sorrow that we lose our beloved mother Yvonne to a short battle with cancer. She was a compassionate woman who believed that family comes first. She taught her children to take care of one another because in times like these we would need each other to help us get through the difficult times. Yvonne will be brought to her home on the Blood Indian Reserve on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 for the Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at ST.
