EGON PEDERSEN, beloved husband of the late Louise Helene, passed away at the St. Michael's Care Health Centre on February 4, 2018 at the age of 93 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his four children; Ken (Shirley) Pedersen, Tove (Doug) Mifflin, Lisbeth (Glynn) Wright and Ted Pedersen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Gerda of Denmark, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also of Denmark.

Besides his wife Louise Helene, Egon was predeceased by his parents in Denmark, one brother and two sisters in Denmark, an infant granddaughter as well as a great-grandson in Ottawa.

Egon was born in Denmark on June 18, 1924. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1957 and made a life for his family in various parts of Canada but most of the time residing in Lethbridge. Dad has told us that he is the first and only in his family to have lived over 90 years, an age which he was quite proud of.

The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Michael's 2nd Floor Dementia Unit for the excellent care given to Dad in the latter part of his life. Words cannot sufficiently express our gratitude for all the kindnesses shown to Dad the past three years by all of the staff.

In memory of Egon, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Lethbridge Branch at #402, 740 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9 or St. Michael's Health Centre, 1400 - 9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.

Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Hello, I had the honor and privilege to know Egon. He volunteered here in the X-ray department and we shared many, many stories and coffees together. I loved his energy and spunk. I thought it was great that he was so computer savvy. It was with great sadness when I found out that he had passed away. My sincere condolences. Gerald.

That is a great photo as I can see the smile in his eyes and hear his laugh behind his smile. Farfar used to say: did I tell you that I love you - I didn't realize until recently I say the same to my kids. Sending our love to all of the family. Mindy, Geoff and Addison

Lis and family - our sympathy in the loss of your Dad. He was such a unique, happy man who could always make our days brighter with his stories and joking. Definitely a life well lived! Roy and Val
