Pat is survived by her husband Bruce, daughter Karen West, granddaughter Jessica (Jacob) Caldwell, and great-grandson Jack Caldwell (age 4), as well as her cousin Ann (Maurice) Paquette and her best friend Linda (Bill) Labelle-Roberts, whom she has known since kindergarten.

She was predeceased by her two younger siblings, who passed away within five months of each other, Elaine (February, 2011) and Danny (June, 2011), and her father in September, 1978.

Pat was born in Montreal, Quebec to parents Aletha and Clarence Glover. She was the oldest of three children in the family. Her mother, Aletha, passed away when Pat was only eight years old. Her sister, Elaine, was only four and Danny was three years old. Her father, Clarence, knew he could not raise the three children without help, so cousin Ann Glover, at the tender age of 16, continued to stay at the house and help raise the three children along with Clarence. Without this help, all three children would be separated in orphanages. This sacrifice of Ann’s had a great impact on Pat’s life. Pat was given by our Lord, very early in life, the great gift of empathy, which only grew as her life progressed. She knew how to “take on” and ease other people’s pain in her kind, gentle ways.

She met Bruce while they were both employed in Lethbridge at Martin Geomatic Consultants Ltd. Pat was also gifted with a strong work ethic, as she developed and was responsible for all aspects of the accounting department within this large company, until she retired in 2017.

In her true, humble and empathetic character, she recognized Bruce’s call to the Permanent Diaconate within the Catholic Church and they journeyed together for five years, hand in hand, through sickness and health, as husband and wife, as Pat’s love supported and guided Bruce to the Sacrament of Holy Orders as a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church (November 18, 2023).

Her health suffered through a large portion of the Diaconate formation and declined further after Bruce’s ordination.

This giving, selfless heart touched the lives of many people for the good during the course of her whole life. She had a deep, true relationship with our Lord Jesus. She knew joy, sorrow and suffering in her life and is now pain free in the loving arms of our Savior. She loved and was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A Prayer Vigil will be held at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Michael Pollard officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Father William Monis celebrating. Both the Prayer Vigil and Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Pat’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Following the Funeral Mass, Pat will be laid to rest in Royal View Cemetery.

Pat made a deep impression on me, we dated briefly, in an innocent way, and Linda, my cousin, kept me informed about events in her life. Linda shared that she met and married a wonderful man who changed her life for the better forever. David
