Mr. ARTHUR ALLAN "ART" OSWALD, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Oswald of Milk River, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 77 years.
Mr. ARTHUR ALLAN "ART" OSWALD, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Oswald of Milk River, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 77 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, 5 children; Glenda (Ron) Lewison of Milk River, Ron (Sherry) Oswald of Milk River, Robert Oswald of Milk River, Kathy (Scott) Harty of Lethbridge, Anne-Marie (Patrick) Marsh of Calgary; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Betty (Vane) Orcutt of Fort St John, as well as numerous brothers and sisters in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Art was born and raised in Southern Alberta, but ultimately called Milk River home. For 21 years, Art was business partners with Melvin Douglas operating A & M Grocery Store. He was an active member of the Milk River Volunteer Fire and Ambulance and Disaster Services Coordinator of the Town of Milk River for several years. In addition, he volunteered as a gymnastics teacher and was also an active member of the Kinsmen Club and Knights of Columbus.
He was a compassionate, thoughtful and honourable man who loved his family, his church and community. He loved the outdoors and took his family on many camping trips. He travelled to Europe four times, as well as Mexico and went on several family trips to the United States which was great, but the best part was always coming home.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed for years to come.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Main Street, Milk River on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 7:30 pm, officiated by Fr. Salvador Ahumada.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:00 am, with Fr. Salvador Ahumada, Celebrant. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Art's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Interment to follow at the Milk River Cemetery.

Art was a great man, very proud of his wife and family. I have many good memories of Art, he had the best sense of humor !

So very sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed visiting Art if we ran into him in MR, and he always greeted us with a great smile and handshake. I will always remember him being so good to my mom when she worked at the grocery store. Hugs, prayers, and condolences to you all.

Art was a wonderful man and boss. He and Mel hired me for my first job at A&M. They were so fun and kind. I will alway remember him fondly. God bless his family ?
