OSAKA, MARY SUMIKO

MARY OSAKA, beloved wife of the late Itchitaro Osaka, of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the age of 93 years. Mary was born February 3, 1918 in Surrey, B.C., she was the daughter of Otogoro and Utano. Mary married Itchitaro Osaka in 1938, together they evacuated to Raymond, AB in June 1942. She worked on the Allen Keebler farm until 1966 when she started work at the Kobai and Mercantile. Mary then moved to Lethbridge in March of 1983 where she resided until her passing. Mary is survived by her children Eichi, Allan (Jean), Randall (Heather), Elaine (Casey), Marlene (Charles), nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Eleanor Katakami and three sisters in law, Mae, Yumiko and Kay Osaka. She was predeceased by her sons Clifford, Richard, Rickey and Jack, siblings Masau, George, Harry, Frank, Hugh, Sidney, Ayako and Shizue and one brother in law Kozie Katakami. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 7:00-8:00 p.m (only). A Private Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Yasuo Izumi, officiating. Interment to follow at Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond. In lieu of Koden and flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
