LAMBERT "BERT" OLDENBURGER, beloved husband of Nikki Oldenburger of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the age of 75 years.
Bert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nikki, as well as his children Aaron (Jenn) and Jill (Darryl), grandchildren Allysan (Craig), Connor, Aadyn, Maddi and Beckett, siblings Leo (Dini), Jenny (Gerrit), Alice, Ray (Joni), Jake, Harry (Joan) and Ralph (Susan), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Fenji, brother Stuard, parents-in-law Jim and Gladys Glover, and siblings-in-law Ricky Glover, Vicki Glover and Harry VanderPloeg.
To know Bert was to love Bert. He spent most of his life working in and around school buses; first as a bus driver, then as a mechanic, and finally as transportation supervisor for Palliser School District. His last job in retirement was delivering auto parts for Silver Automotive, which he enjoyed very much as he was always up for coffee and conversation when making deliveries. Bert was very active with the Picture Butte Elks for over 45 years, as well as the Lethbridge Bingo Association.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their love and support shown to us. Special thanks to Dr. Cunningham, Jackie Foreman (you treated Bert like he was your own father), Dr. Wilde and Dr. Hundal. Special friends Lynn and Wendy, Garett and Jerry, Brian and Bindy, Reinhold and Josephine, Phil and Barb. Thank you to all the health care aides that helped take care of Bert.
A Celebration of Bert's Life will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 4 Ave. S, Lethbridge on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
If you wish, we ask donations be sent to the Liver Foundation of Canada (www.liver.ca).
