DON NORRIE died peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

DON NORRIE died peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Don was born and raised in Lethbridge. After completing his education at Olds College, Don began his career with the federal and provincial governments, and then he went on to form Double 'D' Drilling Ltd. and later Norrie Reclamation Services Ltd. Don was considered one of the best in soils classification and environmental investigation during his many years working in the agriculture and environmental sectors. As an entrepreneur, Don was known for his exceptional client care and he built a strong reputation in all of his business endeavours.

While Don worked very hard at his career, his other focuses in life were his many recreational pursuits. He would often reminisce of his early days racing cars, and he had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, taking countless long distance rides on his Harley with his friends. He was also a lifelong hunter and fisherman, with many trophies and Fish and Game awards to show for it.

Don was a family man and always maintained a very active social life. He treasured every moment spent with his family and friends, and he was admired for his patience, compassion, smile and his ability to light up any room.  Don cherished his near daily rounds to visit with his buddies, and the love and admiration he had for his two children and four granddaughters was clear to all that knew him.

Don is survived by his wife, Denise, of 48 years; his children, Katherine (Clay) and Steve (Marina); grandchildren, Kameron, Liveah, Maya and Sasha; and brothers Jim (Barb) and Bill (Cathy). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judith; brothers-in-law, Charles (Etta) and Geoff (Margaret); and many more relatives and friends, including his special friend Daisy (his darling dog). Daisy was Don's constant companion, and brought endless joy to Don until the end.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Isabelle & Jim, and his parents-in-law, Helen & Fred Nickol.

Those who wish may make a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Canada, Jack Ady Cancer Centre, or charity of your choice.

The family would like to invite relatives and friends to a Celebration of Don's Life at the Popson Park Picnic Shelter, on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
