STAN NIEUWENHUIS, beloved husband of Mrs. Hendrica Nieuwenhuis, passed away on June 20, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Born in Holland (Friesland) he married Hendrica in 1950. They came to Canada in 1952 and resided in Lethbridge ever since. Beside his loving wife of 61 years, Stan is survived by three sons, Sam from Coaldale, John from Lethbridge, Henry (Juliet) from Lethbridge and one daughter Nellie from Coalhurst. Nine grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Brandon, Jocelyn, Kristin, Jaclyn, Michelle, Kurtis and Kevin and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Peter (Marj) from Calgary, Sid (Martha) from Lethbridge, two sisters Pauline Braak (Henk, deceased) from Lethbridge, and Tina Procee (John, deceased) from Lethbridge and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister and one great-grandson. A Memorial Service will be held at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 260 McGill Blvd. West, Lethbridge on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tony Maan officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service.
