Psalm 121:2 My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

On March 23, 2010 at the age of 84, John (Jan Sipkie) Nieuwenhuis went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was the beloved husband to Ann (Antje Bouwman) Nieuwenhuis for 54 years, survived by Ann, his children Julie and Hank DeJager, Sid and Margaret Nieuwenhuis, Lambert and Deborah Nieuwenhuis, Ed and Brenda Nieuwenhuis, Betty and Evert Van de Pol, Dave and Sharon Nieuwenhuis, Mary-Ann and Henk-John Kuipers, 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, 2 sisters and Ann’s sister and 4 brothers. John was predeceased by his young daughter Betty in 1962. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH, 1100 - 40th Ave North, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Hank Van der Woerd officiating.

A Private Graveside Service will be held prior to the Memorial Service.
