My family (Erwin and Martha Schultz) came to know Dan and his family in 1967. Dan would come into Eastway Esso and while I filled up his green truck with gas, he would have a cup of coffee or tea in the restaurant, laughing and joking with all the local patrons - the jail guards, stock yard people like Sherman Hill and others. Dan was always kind and jovial - a perfect business neighbor. I don't think I ever met a person that didn't like him - he will be missed. Rest in peace, Dan. You lived a great life!
