It is with such sorrow to announce the passing of JOYE REBECCA JEAN NEWMAN (née Thomas), of Bournemouth, England, beloved wife of Bruce St. Clair Newman (May 28, 1927 - September 20, 2003), of Manchester, Jamaica.
It is with such sorrow to announce the passing of JOYE REBECCA JEAN NEWMAN (née Thomas), of Bournemouth, England, beloved wife of Bruce St. Clair Newman (May 28, 1927 - September 20, 2003), of Manchester, Jamaica.
Joye came to Canada with her family on October 26, 1952. She is survived by her three children: Susan Patricia, Michael Robin (Marcia), and Robert Bruce (Sherry) as well as her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In honour of Joye's requests, she will be cremated. There will be no formal service.
A private memorial celebrating Joye and Bruce will be held at a designated time and place in 2021 as per their wishes.

I am so sorry for your loss, Joye loved her family and was very proud of all their accomplishments. She had a great sense of humour which will be sorely missed by those who knew her best.

Dear Susan and family, We are saddened to her of your Mom's passing. We have fond memories of visiting with her and Jim's Mom. She had a quick sense of humor and loved to use it to spark a fiesty conversation..We will remember the fun birthday party for your Mom we shared with you..
