FUMIE “FRANCES” NAKAMA, beloved wife of the late Ginichi “Gin” Nakama of Lethbridge, passed away at home on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
Fumie is survived by her children; Doug Nakama, Ken (Maureen) Nakama, Pam Holberton (Allan Watson), Cam (Denise) Nakama and Shawna (Rick) King, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Fujiko (Fudge) and Gingo (Joe) Nakama and Yasue (Yas) Maruyama.
Besides her loving husband Gin, she was predeceased by her parents Matsu and Tomi and siblings Jinsei, Nori and Mas.
Fumie was born in Whiterock, B.C., on May 10. 1930. Her family moved to New Westminster and in 1942 moved to Alberta.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. She will be remembered for her baking and knitting. She thoroughly enjoyed bowling, bingo, and watching all sports.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Yasuo Izumi officiating.
