Myles was born December 2nd, 1941 in Kapuskasing, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce, and achieved his Chartered Accountant designation in 1968. Betty and Myles were married August 7, 1965 in Toronto and moved their family to Lethbridge in 1973.

His career with KPMG spanned from 1967 to 2001, then he was involved with various committees and President of Alberta’s Institute of Chartered Accountants from 2000 to 2005. His favourite activities were downhill skiing and hiking. He regularly skied all the mountains within a two-day radius of home, and frequented the trails of Waterton Glacier Park with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling with his family, and was fortunate to make multiple cross Canada trips through his work in KPMG’s Research and Training Department and as office inspector. His family was blessed by the friendships made through the monthly Bridge group and annual family Christmas gift exchange. Myles enjoyed cards, board games, and jazz.

Known for his fundraising abilities, he Chaired the Rotary Lobsterfest and Knights of Columbus Western Tailgate Party for many years. He was active in Rotary, serving as president 1997-98, district treasurer 1994-95, and the Chair of the Friendship Exchange Committee 1999-2000. In later years Myles was active with the Knights of Columbus, Grand Knight of the St. Martha council 2014-16, president of the Southern Alberta Chapter 2016-19, and District Deputy 2018-2020.

Dear Betty I just stumbled across Myles’ obituary and Jim and wish to share our condolences with you. It was 50 years ago that we visited with you and Myles as we travelled across the country to the Olympics in Montreal. The girls were so young, and so were we all! I am sorry that we’ve been out of touch, but hope this year has been filled with memories of all the good times. Best wishes from Newfoundland.

Betty & Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Regretfully I was not able to attend Myles funeral on July 9 as I was at the hospital being treated for a surprise blood infection, that knocked me to my knees. I had gone septic and thought it was food poisoning... silly me. Thanks to a wise ER Dr. and great lab tech staff, they were able to get me diagnosed and on he correct medication to wellness. I have come to have a new appreciation for wellness and taking care of ones self. I appreciated being able to watch Myles' service later online. Betty, I remember with appreciation both You and Myles excellent hospitality, and welcomed people into your home. Also, remembering how Myles loved to laugh and dedication to the community. May the year ahead be filled with good memories and especially comfort you during your time of loosing your friend, husband and buddy of nearly 60 years, Myles. May the Girls, Robin, Kelly and Katherine

My condolences to Betty and the family. I was Executive Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta when Myles served on the governing Council in the early 2000's, culminating in his serving as President in 2004-2005. We stayed in touch after and it was great to see him at a few of the Reunion Dinners for the Past Presidents. I believe 2019 was the last one he attended in Calgary. He was very dedicated in his role with the Canada Revenue Agency and a strong advocate for fairness and simplicity. He made a great contribution to his profession and community over his long career in Lethbridge. Again condolences to the family.
