MR. JAMES TURNER

MR. JAMES TURNER beloved husband of the late Mrs. Helen Miron Turner passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the age of 87 years.

Jim was born in Calgary in 1922 and moved to the Lethbridge area at the age of ten. In 1940 he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. He served in the Infantry, with the Essex Scottish for five years.

After the war he returned to Lethbridge, where he met and married Helen Miron in 1949. Jim worked in the construction industry, as a carpenter, for many years. After retirement he continued to pursue his lifelong interests in wood working, nature and music. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen and his brother-in-law Jack (Brenda) Miron in 2003, his sister Pauline (Frank) Tito in 1991, and his brother-in-law Frank in 1982.

He is survived by his children Bob (Debbie), Jim and Jean, his sister-in-law Brenda and his niece and nephew Vanessa and Brett.

Jim will be missed very much.

A viewing will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Sunday, December 8, 2009, from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, on Monday, December 9, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Lois Punton officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 4K7 if desired.
