MR. STEPHEN PHILIP MORRIS, dear friend and husband of Mrs. Ailsa Fiander-Morris, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on November 9, 2010. Steve is survived by his son Philip and daughter Katherine (Norbert) Wallocha and grandchildren Matthew and Michaela of Coalhurst. He is also survived by Ailsa’s family: Deborah McLean of Lethbridge, Valerie (Gordon) Miller and children Jeralyn, Tyson, Kale and Zachary of Milk River, Kenneth McLean and son Connor of Lethbridge, David (Joanne) McLean and son Spencer of Mississauga, Glenn (Dana) McLean and daughters Lindsay and Hilary of Drayton Valley and Dr. Kim McLean-Fiander of Oxford, England. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Gladys (Deering) Morris and by his wife, Polly (Pierrette Ouellette), the mother of his children. Steve was born in London, Ontario on April 30, 1938. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy for 5 years, Steve was very active in the insurance industry and was very involved with Kiwanis in Ontario and was instrumental in the success of Camp Banting, a summer Camp for Diabetic children. In 1999, Steve arrived in Lethbridge and launched Property Assessment Services. He was a Director of the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association for several years and was constantly amazed at the positive outcomes for so many of the children. A gathering of Steve’s family and friends will be held to celebrate his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 324 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes in Steve’s name made to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association, RR8-24-6, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 4P4, would be appreciated by the family.
