KIMIE KAY MORIYAMA passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital (Calgary) with her family at her side on April 30, 2018 at the age of 93 years.
She is survived by her children Calvin and Janice. She is also survived by her sister Toshiko Hase and brother Hiroshi and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She is predeceased by her husband Kiyoshi, father Ichiji and mother Haru Urano, brothers Yoshiharu (Tamiko) and Shigetoshi (Masako), sister Shigemi (Satsuki) Nagata and Shizuka, brother-in-law Shoji Hase, sister-in law Gwen Urano and niece Christine Urano.
Kimie was born in Queensborough, BC and was evacuated to Alberta in 1942. She married Kiyoshi in 1950 and worked on the sugar beet farms in Southern Alberta. Eventually they purchased the farm in Picture Butte and worked there until their retirement to Lethbridge in 1993. After retirement, she enjoyed her gardening, golfing and travelling with the family. She recently moved to Calgary to be closer to her children.
At Kimie's request, a Private Family Service was held on May 7, 2018.
