Mickelberry, Wilfred

Sadly we announce the sudden passing of WILFRED BERNARD "BUD" MICKELBERRY on December 20th, 2016 at the age of 85 years.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 22 years, Brenda Mickelberry; daughter Brenda (Dave) Allan and granddaughters: Kiara and Cayley Allan as well as stepsons Colin Sinclair and Cameron Haynes. He is also survived by his siblings; Irene Pfaff, Margaret (Bud) Heck, Jim (Betty) Mickelberry, Dorothy Lange, Barbara (Bryan) Watts, Verna (Ron) McDowell and Sharon (Ike) Fehr as well as many nephews and nieces, extended family and loved ones.

He was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Agnes Mickelberry, brother Norman and sister Betty Chambers, brothers-in-law Andrew Pfaff and Tony Lange.

Born in Medicine Hat on January 23, 1931, Bud found his passion at an early age farming south of Vauxhall with his brother Norman. They soon had their own farms, which brought forth for Bud, satisfaction in working in the fields. From there, he worked at Vauxhall Foods in maintenance for 23 years before retiring to Taber and most recently moved to Coaldale. He enjoyed gardening, wood working and daily walks as well as helping out the elderly by shoveling snow and cutting grass. You can take the farmer out of the field but you can't take the field out of the farmer.

A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make a donation in Bud's memory to a charity of one's choice.
