Merle Dale Baird May 1, 1940 - February 5, 2014. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Merle after a long and arduous journey with Lewy Body Disease.
Merle will be lovingly remembered by his family: His wife and soul mate of 25 years, Lorna. His Children and Grandchildren: Lindy Baird (Glenn): Desiree - her children Brody, Talan, Miller; Christi and son Corbin; Gordie and Laura. Alden Baird (Doryce): James (Lisa); Tim (Amber); Cody and children Jarron and Ridge; Kayla; and Tyler. Dwayne Baird (Connie): Brandi (Jeff), their children Quinn, Ava, and Chase; Mark (Keri); Jolene. Kenny Baird (Vicki): Craig (Layla). Troy Kelly (Gloria): Shaylene, Devin, Joey. Rod Kelly (Carrie): Jakob, Paige. Also mourning his passing; siblings Grant Baird and Sylvia (Dale) Wold, sisters-in-law Anita Baird, Penny Adams, Bev Dunne, Charlene (Eric) Petit, Wanda (Wayne) Johnson, Karen (Brian) Coogan, brothers-in-law Dwight Ford (Marilyn), Ivan Adams, Al Osadchuk numerous nieces and nephews who considered Merle to be a wonderful uncle but also a good friend, and a host of friends accumulated over the years. Merle was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn Ford, in 1987. His brother Ronald, niece Laurie Hutchinson, nephews Terry Baird and Drew Baird, sisters in law Violet Baird and Marlene Lewis, and brothers in law Allan Adams, Mervyn Ford, Bill Dunne and niece Cheryl Dunne.
A Celebration of Life will be held at THE MACKENZIE CONFERENCE CENTRE, 5745 45th Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta, on Monday, February 10th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Lorna and the family wish to thank the many people who have shared in Merle's journey of Lewy Body Disease and made his burden lighter: Doctor Johannes Geers and Doctor Joel Weaver, Lethbridge Home Care nurses and Staff, Victorian Order of Nurses, Staff of St. Michael's Care Centre, special friends Larry Tabish, and Lorna's Employers at ATB who have been flexible and supportive throughout this 8 year journey.
