MARGARET PATRICIA (PAT) MEREDITH, beloved sister of Lou (Tom) McNab of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at Cottage #5, Good Samaritan’s Park Meadows Village on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the age of 83 years.
Pat is survived by her loving sister Lou, brother in law Tom McNab; aunt Jean Dunbar, niece Kim (Fred) Skura and their children Kristen and Karmyn, nephews Kirk McNab and his children Kyle and Shana, Guy (Tracy) McNab and their children Elliott, Jade and Chase. She is also survived by her cousins; Craig (Michelle) Dunbar, Terry (Karen) Dunbar and their children; and Carol (Harold) Ashmead and family. She was predeceased by her dear husband and daughter, Roy and Kristen, parents Margaret and Eddie Jasman, a brother, Forrest, uncles Bill, Dave and Mick Dunbar and cousins Doreen and Robert.
Pat was born in Fort Macleod, AB, the eldest daughter of Eddie and Margaret Jasman. Her schooling at Fort Macleod allowed her to enjoy many friends and activities including basketball, speed skating and dancing. She loved the piano and played it well.
During the war, Pat met her future husband Roy - a Flying Officer stationed at #7 S.F.T.S. They were married when Roy returned from overseas. They had one child, Kristen - a particularly gifted and artistic loving daughter. They took up residence at Oakland, California where they spent many happy years. During that time, Pat exhibited her ability to decorate her home with the wonderment of Oriental art and original artifacts.
Following the loss of her husband and daughter, Pat moved to Calgary, AB. While in Calgary, she worked with a catering service, “Weddings by Irma”, which she really enjoyed. She loved decorating and organizing!
Pat eventually moved to Lethbridge where she resided at the Haig Tower and then to the Columbia Assisted Living - again she made special friends in her 2.5 years there. “Good Sams” at Magrath welcomed her for 6 months and then she moved to the “Good Sams” in Lethbridge where she resided with loving, competent caregivers who embraced her to their utmost and beyond.
Special thanks to Dr. Daniel Steeves for his care and concern, to each and everyone at Good Samaritan’s, Park Meadows, Cottage #5.
