MELFORD INGVAR KORSBERG
October 31, 1922 - June 11, 2014
On Thursday, June 11, our Blue Jays fan became an angel in the outfield. MELFORD KORSBERG, our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away at St. Therese Villa in the arms of his big loving family at 91 years old.
Melford is the loving Father of Alana McClain (Mony), Connie-Marie Riedlhuber (Jim) and Darlene Gleason (Bill), Grandfather of Kathryn Corliss (Aaron), Danielle Erickson (Scott), Travis Riedlhuber, Adam Riedlhuber, Michelle Gleason, Cherie Harvey (Scott) and Great-Grandfather of Shirelle, Grady, Gryffyn, Jaci and Jackson. Melford was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Mabel, his Granddaughter Chantelle Gleason-Garret and her husband Kiel.
Melford's passion was farming. He was born in Frontier Saskatchewan and moved 16 miles east of Warner, AB in 1949 where he and Mabel farmed for 20 years until they moved to Lethbridge, where he worked as a welder with Edwards Rod Weeder.
Melford was a special man who loved to spend time with friends and family. He really enjoyed fishing and camping and was an amazing gardener. His quiet spirit guided him through many storms in life. He was from a family of 10 and the last to leave which was hard for him. He was a kind man who will always be remembered and loved for his devotion to his family and his gentleness and kindness towards others.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 11:15 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
He will be honoured at a Celebration of Life at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. with Sister Ivy McCaan officiating.
A family Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
