MRS. MARY MEHLEN peacefully passed away with her family by her side in Lethbridge, on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
MRS. MARY MEHLEN peacefully passed away with her family by her side in Lethbridge, on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Mary was a loving mother to Dan (Drianne) Mehlen, Dale (Susan) Mehlen and Bill (Audie) Mehlen and grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents Maria and Frank Schweinzer, stepmother Agnus Lenz, and brother Tony Schweinzer.
Mary had a deep passion for creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by many.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. with Sharon Hagel officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry. The Prayer Service, Funeral Mass and Interment will be livestreamed and may be accessed via Mary's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Following the Funeral Mass, Mary will be laid to rest in Royal View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Seminary Fund c/o All Saints Parish (2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1K 0P4 or St. Michael's Health Centre Palliative Care Unit (1400 - 9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4V5).

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mehlen families at this time. I have fond memories of Aunt Mary and will treasure a special gift she made for me. Our condolences.
Thank you to your family for the nice tribute to your mother Mary. Will always remember her kindness and her creations at all the churches and we had a beautiful glass window at our house in Milk River done with a wheat Sheaf. I wish we could have taken it with us as we saw it every day. Our sympathy and condolences to all your family from ours at the loss of your mom.

Our lives were touched by Mary's thoughtfulness and her love and perseverance. We only met her and instantly she was there to see if she could contribute. Her kindness will always be remembered.

Mary will be remembered by the beautiful windows she made for the Sacred Heart Church. Being a teacher, Mary and I had spoken many times. She was a wonderfully creative lady. Our prayers are with the family.

"Mrs. Mehlen" as I knew her as a child, was my favourite elementary "Grade 3" teacher in Foremost. "Mrs. Mehlen" was always a ray of sunshine, always smiling and gave the best hugs, I will truly miss bumping into her. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family.
Sincere condolences to the whole Mehlen family. It's too bad that the church in Foremost is too small to hold the service where Mary could be surrounded by the beautiful windows she created. She didn't forget us and we would chat we attended church in Lethbridge. She will be missed.
My Heartfelt condolences to all of Mary's family and friends. I had the privilege of getting to know Mary when we met at my work many years ago where we would talk rocks and gems..
