HELMUT CHARLES MECKELBORG, beloved husband of Judy Meckelborg, passed away peacefully at home of leukemia on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the age of 77 years.
Hal was born in St. Gregor, SK and grew up on the farm near Muenster, SK. After teaching school in Broadacres, SK and Camrose, AB he continued his career in Lethbridge at St. Francis Jr. High School for 29 years, where he enjoyed wonderful friendships with his colleagues. Hal cherished his family, quiet country living and travelling the world with Judy. He was a man of devout faith, quiet strength and a loving father and grandfather. Hal truly was a fine man.
Hal was predeceased by his parents Johanna and Bernard Meckelborg, his brothers Alfred, Otto, Ben, John, and Wally. He is survived by brothers Al and Ray, sister Joanne, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his loving wife Judy of 52 years, Hal will be greatly missed by his daughter, Susan, and her children Robyn, Lauren and Kyle, son Douglas, son Jim (Lisa) and their children Livia and Reid.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a Prayer Service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 7:30 P.M. with Deacon Cliff Bogdan officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Albert Sayson celebrating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
