1934 - 2023 It is with our deepest sorrow that we are announcing the passing of BARBARA McRAE, beloved wife of Kenny and mother to Shirley, and Barbie (Greg) Bulva. Mom passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the age of 88 years.
Mom was born on a farm near Chin, Alberta, to Frank and Elizabeth Lengyel. She was the youngest of four brothers: Julius, Leslie, Frank and John and two sisters: Elizabeth and Helen.
She was predeceased by her parents, all of her siblings, her first husband, John Bulva and her son, Kenny in 1972.
Mom had the biggest heart of anyone that you would have ever met. She had so much love for everyone. In her 21 years of school bus driving, she made so many lifelong friends. She cherished each and every one of them. Mom could never say 'no' to anyone.
Mom loved gardening. On the farm near Iron Springs, she had incredibly beautiful Rock Gardens and Flower Beds. When she and Kenny married in 1977, once again in Picture Butte, she had a picture-perfect home and garden. Moving again, to the Westside of Lethbridge, in 2002, another fantastic home and yard. She took so much pride in herself and everything around her.
Mom received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the C.W.L.
Mom loved camping and frequent road trips with Kenny. She was an excellent cook, and a loving, caring woman. We will truly miss her so very much. We love you, Mom.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating.
Following the Funeral Mass, Barbara will be laid to rest in Archmount Cemetery.
