MCMILLAN, HAZEL MARGARET

LIFE OF HAZEL MCMILLAN CELEBRATED

Hazel Margaret McMillan, (nee Creighton), born February 26, 1913, passed away August 17, 2010, in Lethbridge.

Hazel was raised in Manitoba, spending her favourite years in the town of Lyleton. She graduated as an RN from the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital, then moved to Vancouver Island where she met John McMillan, her husband of 44 years. They lived most of their married life in Alberta. Hazel’s 40 year nursing career took place in hospitals and medical offices in Fort Macleod, Calgary, and Edmonton. When John died in 1983, she moved to Lethbridge where she resided the last 27 years of her life. It was here she met her 2nd life partner, Leo Ell, who died last year. She was strong, hardworking, an excellent seamstress, and a devoted mother. Her sense of humour remained until the day she died.

Hazel will be missed by her loving family: brother, Ross Creighton, Toronto; son John (Nadine) McMillan, Vancouver; daughter Wynne (Bill) Edwards, Edmonton; daughter Dawn McMillan, Vancouver; grandchildren Erin Edwards, Edmonton: Ian (Eileen) Edwards, Sherwood Park; Grant, Lindsay and Alanna McMillan, Vancouver; great grandchildren, Brian Steele and Declan Edwards, Sherwood Park.
