It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear KRISTA PEARL McHUGH, of Lethbridge, at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 30 years.

Krista was born on December 1, 1990 to Debra Healy and Ronald McHugh at the Grace Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.

Krista was a very kind hearted person who always seen the good in everyone that crossed her path, which is why she had so many friends. Krista was so excited to become a mother, and at the age of 19, she gave birth to her Son, Isiah who she called "MySiah."  In February of 2020, she gave birth to her daughter, our little Debra Francisca Pearl, who we call "Baby Pearl." Her children were her pride and joy and she was so proud to be their Mommy. Krista was also an animal lover and one of her dreams was to become a Veterinarian. One of her favorite pastimes was attending brandings at her adopted dad, Sonny's, pasture. She also enjoyed barrel racing, which she was a natural at up until she got pregnant with Isiah. She then focused on being a mother fulltime. She loved her nieces, Jeridee, Lucille and Luviana and nephew, Little Ian very much. She was always taking pictures of and recording their cuteness since they were babies. She also loved her nephews, Brendan, Aaden, and Dashyboy. Krista was always so happy to see Dashy and always greeted him with a big smile and a hug. She also enjoyed going down to Sonny's, which she called home, and start a cookout. Krista was a one-of-a-kind type of person.  She was genuine, kind and had a big heart and would support you in any way she can.  She also loved to play the card game, Dots, with all her aunts, uncle and cousins.

She is survived by her babies, Michael Isiah Twigg Jr and Debra Francisca Pearl McHugh, father of Baby Pearl, Ivan Good Striker, her stepchildren, Ryan and Sophia.

She is also survived by her sister, Chantel (Jim), brothers, Dennie Jerry, Ron & Ryan McHugh, her adopted dad, Stanley Black Water Jr., whom she loved dearly, her adopted sisters Kelly Blue Blackwater and Terry Jane Chaboyer,  adopted niece, Arinelle Black Water, and special cousins who she took as sisters, Tasha Marie Healy (Ian) & Kady Small Legs (Nick) and brother, Cody Wells, maternal aunties, Carolla Bruised Head, Carma (William) Chief Calf, Lena Small Legs & Joanne Healy and her uncle Lloyd (Karen) McHugh, paternal aunties, Sonia McHugh & Daphne Mai'stoina, uncles, Neil (Carol) McHugh, Jerome (Jackie) McHugh & Trevor (Mandy) Running Rabbit, adopted grandma Rosalyn Many Guns and adopted auntie Joanne Yellow Horse.

She is predeceased by her daughter Danielle, her mother Debra Healy, and just 48 hours before her passing, her dad Ronald McHugh Jr, maternal grandparents: John and Christene Chief Calf, uncle Leonard Chief Calf, auntie Verna Chief Calf, paternal grandparents: Ronald McHugh Sr. and Pearl Delorme, uncles Blair, Warren and Barry McHugh, aunties: Donna and Sandra McHugh and cousins too numerous to mention. We are sorry if we missed any names.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Jacen Abrey, Leslie Wells & Kara Eagle Bear & all the staff at Bringing The Spirit Home, as well as everyone who donated money, food, etc.

The family apologizes for anyone that was missed.
