With profound sadness we announce the passing of BEV MAZUTINEC, our loving and devoted mom and friend to all whose lives she touched. Bev left us on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the age of 82 years.
Bev loved her family very much. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her three children: John (Sheila) Mazutinec, Teresa (Don) Garber and Rita (Todd) O'Hara; her six grandchildren: Trevor (Carla) Mazutinec, Trent (Taylor) Mazutinec, Kyle (Kelsey) Garber, Marcie Garber (James), Bryan (Kristen) O'Hara and Karmen (Kevin) Douglas; and her 11 great-grandchildren: Emmett & Blythe Mazutinec, Bauer & Blayke Mazutinec, Payten & Dylan Garber, Sawyer & Addy O'Hara, Ryley and Skylar and Brooke Douglas.
Bev is predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents, Gordon and Elenore Burns, sister Faye Abdalian and parents-in-law Alex and Julia Mazutinec.
Born in Carmangay, Alberta, Bev grew up on her family farm. She attended school in Carmangay. She met John in her senior year of high school and they were married on October 18, 1958. They lived in Shaughnessy, Nobleford, and Red Deer before they moved to Milk River in 1972.
Bev worked at many banks from the time she graduated high school until she began working as the Secretary of Erle Rivers High School - a position she held for 34 years. Over the years, she touched the lives of many staff, students and their families. She volunteered as Treasurer for St. Paul's United Church in Milk River for many years.
Bev lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mom, friend and secretary. She loved to cook and entertain. Almost every week, family and friends gathered at John and Bev's and were always well fed!
The family would like to thank all the staff at Bow Island Long Term Care for the excellent care mom received.
A Celebration of Bev's Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Patrick Siedlecki officiating.
Bev will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in Milk River.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
