ANNE MAYWALD, beloved wife of Sigfried Maywald, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans West Highlands, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the age of 94 years.

Anne was born on December 13, 1926 at Shore Acres, B.C. At age two, she moved to Vulcan, AB, and attended public school at Sunny Glen. It was a one-roomed schoolhouse with one teacher for nine grades. Thereafter, she attended high school in High River, AB, and came to Lethbridge in 1945 and worked for special diet in the kitchen for the Galt Hospital.

In 1947, she married Peter Bowman, lived at the River Bottom for six years and had a large garden. When their lease at the River Bottom was cancelled to make room for a park, they moved into town. Peter worked as a bricklayer and was Union Secretary, whose work he shared with his wife Anne for 28 years. Four sons, Kenneth, Donald, Douglas and Randall, were born to this marriage.

She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Stella Rebalken, her brother Mike and half-brother Sam. On October 1, 1985, Peter Bowman passed away from a battle with cancer.

In 1987, Anne married Siegfried Maywald and thereafter, moved to a three-and-a-half-acre lot west of Stony Plain, AB. Loving gardening, we both plated many fruit trees, berry bushes and cultivated a large vegetable garden. To guarantee pollination for our fruit trees, berry bushes and vegetables, we kept two beehives, which supplied us with plenty of honey. In earlier years, Anne did lots of knitting and sewing for the hospital, church and senior's centre.

Now remaining is her second husband, Siegfried Maywald, her sons: Kenneth, Douglas, Donald and Randall Bowman, grandsons Aaron, James and Michael Bowman, and granddaughters Kyla and Michelle Bowman.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor James Wesley officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited. Kindly RSVP your attendance to Cornerstone at 403-381-7777 or care@cornerstonefh.ca

Following the service, Anne will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery.

Ziggy, sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved Anne. I miss the days of seeing her and you at Lsco exercise classes. God bless and comfort you.

Joy Jones, October 25, 2021

Kindest thoughts and sympathies to Anne's boys and their families. As a boy I remember well how Aunt Anne and Grandma Rebalkin made sure we were always remembered at Christmas time after our parents' divorce. As her nieces and nephews, we looked forward to the many gifts and treats she would bake for us. She never forgot us! For years Anne would stop by the house when passing through, doing all she could to try to maintain connections with all the cousins. What a legacy she has left!

Keith Dudley, October 25, 2021
