MARY ANN SCHWENGLER, beloved wife of John Schwengler of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the age of 69 years. She is survived by her husband John Schwengler, Daughters Tammy (Grant) Hillingsworth and Tricia (Jerry) Davey of Sundre AB., Son Terry (Marci) Schwengler of Lethbridge and all of her grandchildren Jamie, Jay, Emily, Abigail, Joel, Carter and Riley. She is also survived by her brother Joe (Cathy) Fifik of White Rock BC. It’s difficult to say goodbye to someone who meant the world to so many people. Someone who completely embraced life and was brimming with love, kindness, wisdom and laughter. Mom passed away peacefully in the hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a selfless person, dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. Family always came first. Mom frequently brought us together with her fantastic meals, where the food was endless and the wine was flowing. We will miss her never ending encouragement, support and warmth. As most of us know, mom played an enormous role in the organization of the moonlight run and the Lethbridge triathlon. Her contribution to the community will not be forgotten. Although we will miss her deeply, her spirit will never be lost. We will carry it with us forever. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses on 4B and 4C. A special thank you to Dr. Avari. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. BASILS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge, on Tuesday October 23, 2007 at 10:30am. In memory of Mary, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. 317 - 10th street south, Lethbridge Alberta T1J 2M7.
