With deep sadness, the family of MARJORIE ISOBEL ROTH (nee Purdon) announces her passing at the age of 84. Marjorie suffers no longer, and has arrived safely into her heavenly home on Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband Tom. Also left to mourn her loss are Marjorie’s children; Valerie Ross, Pat Brown, Marilyn (John) Fehr, Robert Bott and Betty Herbison and Tom’s children; Terry(Sheila) Roth, Dianne (Colin) Beattie, Blair (Jan), Arlene Roth and Eileen McIntyre and their families. A devoted grandmother, she will be missed deeply by her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Marjorie is also survived by her brother Archie (Mildred) Purdon and sister Muriel Moffat. She was predeceased by her sister Doreen Rintoul and her parents Robert and Hazel Purdon. Marjorie was born in Wingham, Ontario and moved to Lethbridge in 1982. Marjorie was a fabulous cook, regularly providing a welcoming place for family and friends. She will always be remembered for her compassion, kindness and her hearty laugh. A quietly giving woman, Marjorie enjoyed serving people or lending a hand to ease another’s burdens. As an accomplished artist, Marjorie loved painting the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Flowers were always blooming in her home and garden. Tom and Marjorie would have celebrated their 13th anniversary on May 13th. ‘Her children rise and call her blessed and with great pride her husband says, there are many fine women in the world but you are the best of them all!’ Proverbs 31: 28 & 29 A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 7:30 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 -12th Avenue South on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Tim Boyle Celebrant.
