MARIE LUCILLE VEDRES

(February 7, 1941 - April 23, 2014)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother at the age of 73. Mom passed away peacefully at home in her sleep.

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, brothers Albert (Hanna) Groves, Arthur Groves, Maurice Groves, John (Katie) Groves, Bill (Isabel) Groves, and by her sister Lyla (Fern) Huber.

She is survived by her two sons Darrell (Michelle) of Lethbridge and Rodney (Shannon) of Lethbridge, one brother Melvin (Jean) Groves of Lethbridge and a sister-in-law Elsie Groves.

Marie was a Caretaker with the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic School Division for more than 25 years. Marie and Ralph were married on June 21, 1958. She was well loved for her humor, respect and generous spirit. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother to Jaime, Joey, Nicky, Fayla, Tiana, Grayson and friend to many. She especially enjoyed her time at the Norbridge Senior Centre making beautiful paper tole pictures. Mom's other love was singing in the St. Basil's Catholic Church Choir for the last 50-plus years.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Monday, April 28th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Deacon Frank Peta officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Cremation will follow, with a private interment at a later date.
