As a wife, Maisie was a true partner, offering unconditional support and affection. Her love for her family was boundless, and she was the heart and soul of her home. As a mother, she was a guiding light, nurturing her children with a tenderness that will never be forgotten. She instilled in them the values of love, strength, and integrity, shaping them into the people they are today. Her role as a daughter, sister, and granddaughter was one she cherished deeply. Maisie was always there for her family, providing comfort and care in times of need, and sharing joy and laughter during times of happiness. Her relationships were a testament to her devotion, and she will forever be remembered as the glue that held her family together.

Maisie had the kindest and most caring heart. She gave of herself freely, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her generosity and selflessness were unmatched, and she had an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued and loved.

A true fighter, Maisie faced every challenge with courage, grace, and an unshakable faith in the goodness of life. She never gave up, no matter the obstacles, and her strength continues to inspire all who knew her.

Though we are heartbroken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that her love and legacy will live on forever. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply cherished and will be dearly missed.

Though we drifted apart in recent years, due to distance, Maisie was a funny, smart, intelligent person who loved her family and friends and lit up the room when she walked in. The world is less bright because of her absence.

Maisie! I still can't believe you are gone. Your light shone so very bright! You were the most patient, hardworking, loyal person I have ever known. You always kept a level head even in the most random, hilarious, chaotic situations that McDonald's overnight shift threw at us! Rest easy knowing there are so many people out there whose lives have been made brighter by your sweet spirit!

Maisie. If a thousand words could explain who you were, it wouldn't be enough. You excelled in everything you did. You were my role model.i want to share a story about Maisie. When I was about 13 We went to Vancouver together just the two of us. It was the first time going to a big city without my parents. we wanted to go see the Canucks play, because our family is a devout Canucks family. But Toronto was in town so tickets were very expensive. the internet was very new mind you. We searched this new internet thing looking for tickets. We forked out hundreds of dollars to a random scalper we found on some now forgotten website, hoping the tickets were real. They were and we had an amazing time. I felt safe with you because you always protected me. You let me hang out with your friends. You taught me square roots when I was in grade 4. You played a pivotal role in who I am today. You fought bravely and courageously and it makes me proud to be your brother. I only hope I can be half of who you were. You will forever be in my thoughts. I love you sis. I miss you so very much.

My dear sweet Maisie.... the story of how I met you and how you came to be part of the LA Chefs family is one of my favorite stories to tell, and honestly one of the most rewarding situations I have had in over 25 years of being and employer and business owner. We were setting up for a wedding at the Legion the night before the wedding, and I noticed a young woman who seemed to be in charge and control of everything. I observed her giving instructions as to who needed to do what, and how to do it. After I watched for a while I knew I had to meet her. I sent and introduced myself and offered her a job on the spot. She didn't accept right away, but a few months later she contacted me and asked if the offer was still good. I said "of course"! So she came to work for us part time, but she was always open about her career goal of working full time in the bank. I understood, but appreciated any time that she could give us. It was a few years before she told us she had been offered her dream job at the bank, and so she told us she was leaving. Of course we were sad to see her go- but we understood and wished her well. Approximately 3-4 years passed, and Maisie reached out to us, and told us that she realized that she actually loved working for LA Chefs more, and missed our work culture and family, and she wondered if we would bring her back. Of course the answer was YES! We hired her back on the spot, and she worked for us up until her recent diagnosis and subsequent health battle. In all my life, I honestly cannot say that I have met a more genuine and kind hearted soul. She was more than this though- she was a dedicated employee who truly valued the relationships she made with her clients and co-workers. Maisie- we miss your beautiful smile, and your kind calm presence, but even in these last couple of days, we FEEL your presence, and we know that you are still with us in spirit, and cheering us on as you always have. I know I speak on behalf of the entire LA Chefs team.... when I say we will ALWAYS honor and cherish the time we had with you.

Maisie To my great niece, Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. You fought so bravely and with such strength against cancer. Your kindness, generosity, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew you. The world is a lesser place without you, but I take comfort in knowing that Grandpa Bill will be there to welcome you with open arms. Rest in peace my sweet girl. You will always be in my heart and thoughts. With love and deepest sympathy, Bev

Reading through all the posts on social media of people sharing their love for you Maisie, was so beautiful. People who knew you a decade ago and more, speaking of their fondness of you and sadness of your passing. You were by far the kindest, strongest, and most gentle person I have ever met. You are light, no doubt about it. We treasure you and will always remember you and will continue to speak of just how lovely you were. See you later

Lisa Dyck, December 19, 2024
