Thank you Tavia for all of the gifts you gave your friends and family over the 68 years you were with us on this earth. You were generous of spirit, kind to all, exceptionally creative and forever beautiful. You gifted us with two fine sons: Ira (Kira) and Lorien (Christine). You are leaving a legacy of light and love to your two grandchildren: Jasper and Opal, who will know you in spirit even though, sadly, you never met them in person. You were loved and admired by many dear friends, cousins and colleagues. You lovingly cared for Mary and Chuck with compassion and grace. You shared your wisdom and knowledge with all of those you touched and loved. Pictures, collages and other pieces of art that illustrate your creative brilliance will live on in our lives and "colour" fond memories forever.
In some unknown way, you will be joining those who went before, your parents Ruth and Marcel and your Aunt And?e and Uncle Yves.
"As she was beautiful, a shining light in life, so she shall remain in the hearts of all those who loved her."
You gifted me with all that is good and bright and lovely in this world. Your loving sister, Barb.
Details surrounding the Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, once the current Covid restrictions are lifted.
In memory of Helen (Tavia) Maheu, donations can be made to McKillop United Church (403-328-2703) or a charity of your choice.

I worked with Tavia in Nelson - every day at work with Tavia was a good day! We formed a friendship that I truly cherished- so wacky, so fun and if you wanted a straight answer- then there was no-one better to go to. I missed her when she moved to Lethbridge, but was happy that she got to be with and assist her mother in her last years. Wonderful memories of a wonderful lady!
Oh dear Tavia, so sad that you left us too soon. Such a bright and shining light, full of laughter, creativity and compassion. Always up for adventure with an ability to make almost any situation fun. I will forever appreciate your honesty, wisdom and humour. I feel so blessed to have known and loved you. Happy trails to you dear one, see you one the other side.
